catching up!

It was a whirlwind of a morning yesterday.  The painters were here for to finish the last coat on the baseboards, the flooring guy was here (again) to iron out some flooring bubbles, and the vanity builder was here removing little chips from the arborite.  We have closets but no shelving.  Shelving is the next stage.  The boxes will start their downward migration soon.

I've finished my seasonal magnets.  The Hallowe'en magnets were so popular here that I made rusty metal Christmas and winter magnets too using Crafty Secrets vintage supplies.  I had wanted to sponge paint some acrylic paint on the Christmas trees but it got lost in the rusty metal colours.  Here are the winter magnets (which will grace our fridge until snow-melt):

Here are the Christmas magnets which will be promptly put away for next Christmas!

With our Christmas decorations away, K and N were anxious to decorate for Valentine's Day.  Here's the beginning of the Valentine's Day tree!  I managed to persuade them that only pink/white/red heart baubles should decorate the tree as they were putting anything heart-shaped on it!  (You'll see N's Klutz heart-shaped purse is on the tree!  There's only so much persuading I can do!)  I'll post a Valentine's tree update if they make ornaments for the tree!  My dh groans each time we decorate seasonally.  I'm delighted that we cause him such anguish!  He knew we were up to something the minute he came within proximity of our house and saw K's heart-shaped creation gracing our front door where the Christmas wreath had been hanging!

Valentine's Day tree! *snort*

I bought some Valentine's Day decor at Target yesterday, you know, before it is sold out, in like, February when most people think about Valentine's Day.

I started putting Valentine things in my jars. So fun! I love those magnets! They turned out wonderful, of course.

Lovely magnets :) Your decorations sound so fun. I've never done anything for Valentine's day.. I still need to put away fall decorations.. I know, bad, right!

I love love love the SNOW Much Winter Fun magnet! (Although I detest winter.)

And I'm so curious as to why your dh groans about the crockpot. I have used some of the recipes that came with the pot...and my own DH (since he was single with 3children for ten years) was always throwing a roast in there. If I do find anything earth shattering, I will email ya! I just love the way you can smell something simmering in there all day when it is cold out.

I can't even think about Valentine's day right now...although I should! I have an online store!

PS. Thanks for the crockpot recipe! If I get a chance to write some of ours down, I'll do a blog post on them...

I love that you have a Valentine's tree. Clearly the little girls love decorating it too.

Tell the girls Aunt Saucy says "anything goes" on a Valentine's tree. It's my rule.

Tell DH "anything goes" with seasonal decor. Also my rule.

You are simply too clever. How I wish you lived closer so I could convince you to share your cleverness!

It must feel sooo good to know that you are almost ready to use your new space! Can't wait to see it!

Love your magnets! They look fun to make. I haven't started making anything for valentines yet, but I am sooo ready to. So glad Christmas is over!
